Photo: Longboarding On The Columbia River In Wenatchee

The Columbia River is a great source for recreation in Wenatchee.  Here we see someone going longboarding right alongside Walla Walla Park.  The river is great for other forms of outdoor recreation too, including swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, and more.  Yet another one of the great assets that Wenatchee residents, and those around North Central Washington, have to take advantage of.

Photo: O'Reilly Auto Parts In Wenatchee

I'm sharing this photo today because O'Reilly Auto Parts really came through.  I thought I had an alternator issue in my car, drove there to price some parts, and they offered to check out my electrical system fir free.  Hooked their little machine up to my battery and it and the alternator checked out fine.  Turned out to be an overlooked connection problem.  They have earned a repeat customer.

Photo: Space For Lease At The Old K-Mart Building

The new Gateway Cinema has been up and running for awhile now on the north end of Wenatchee.   It took up about two thirds of the old K-Mart building,  but the other third is still vacant.  What would be a good business (or businesses) to go right next to our brand spanking new state if the art movie theater?

Photo: The Apple Capital Loop Trail At Dusk

The Apple Capital Loop Trail is one of Wenatchee and East Wenatchee's best attributes.  Accessible from a number of places and running along the shores of the Columbia River on both sides, it works for exercise and as a way to get from one place to another too.  This photo is taken from the east side looking back at the Odabashian Bridge.

Photo: The Highline Canal In Sunnyslope

The Highline Canal was built in the early 1900's, more than 100 years ago, and brings water from the Dryden area,  through Cashmere and Monitor, and eventually to Wenatchee for much needed irrigation purposes.  Here it passes through the Sunnyslope area where it provides water for both residential and agricultural needs.

Photo: The Riverwalk Bridge In Wenatchee

Connecting Wenatchee 's downtown area with the Apple Capital Loop Trail and Riverfront Park.  This is a fun way to get from one to the other without having to hunt for a new parking spot.  Pictured above is the way the bridge looked during a breast cancer awareness event in 2010.

Photo: Pear-a-dise in Wenatchee

The miniature train that runs right alongside the Apple Capital Loop Trail has a number of buildings and other structures located near it.  This is a really fun area, especially for those with children, and especially when the sun is out and the train is running.  Wenatchee has some great parks and outdoor places to go.

Photo: Keeping Roads Clean In The Wenatchee Area

A very valuable opportunity is out there for anyone concerned with keeping the area clean as well as getting some good advertising.  Highway clean up can be done by group or businesses on both  state highways and county roads.  Along with doing good, you also get your business name out for the public to see.  In the photo above, Stemilt provides a good community service and also gets some great exposure.

Located on the north end of Wenatchee,  the Food Pavilion is the only grocery store in that side of the Wenatchee River.  Other businesses in the area include Subway, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Arby's, and the new Gateway Cinema.

Confluence State Park is a favorite of locals and travelers alike.  It has a great camping area, swimming area, plent of wide open spaces, and a boat launch.  It is even connected to the 10+ mile long Apple Capital Loop Trail which runs along both sides of the Columbia River.
